WandaVision

WandaVision is the newest addition to the Marvel universe. Although I am a big Marvel fan this one is confusing to me. I have never heard of WandaVision before, and I am struggling to understand exactly what is going on. At this time there have only been 2 episodes released on Disney+. The first 2 episodes of WandaVision were both in black and white, but at the end of the 2nd episode color was introduced, so don't let that turn you off of the show.

The general idea behind the show from what I understand so far is that these 2 beings Wanda and her husband Vision have just moved to a small town. Wanda seems to have telekinetic abilities where she can move things with her mind and make things appear out of thin air. This and other aspects of the show make me think of the old tv show Bewitched. Vision on the other hand seems to be some type of robot or cyborg that can fly and move through solid objects, also he has the ability to disguise himself to look like a human.

Where I am not familiar with these characters, or their story from Marvel comics I find myself loosing interest in the series, however the end of the 2nd episode did leave me with the feeling that it was going to have some significant changes to the format soon, so at this time I will not be giving it a rating, but I will continue to update this review as the series continues.

All Rise

All Rise is a new TV series. At the time of this review the first season had not completed airing. The series is focused on a new Judge in LA who is considered by many a creative judge. The thing that makes this show stand out a little from other Judge centered shows is that most episodes have 2 - 3 different cases and not just the one judge.

This is still just a basic drama series so like most you have relationships and personal problems that you would have in any other drama. You also have to look at the fact that it only has a PG rating so your not getting any surprises.

Although I am a fan of the show and if it gets renewed I will most likely continue to watch the series, there isn't anything big that would make it jump out from the other drama series.

TrollHunters: Tales of Arcadia

TrollHunters is an animated series that is part of a Tales of Arcadia collection on Netflix. The series had 3 seasons and is now complete. The series also crosses over with another series from this collection called 3Below. In addition to this there is another series coming to Netflix in 2020 called Wizards.

This review is going to focus on TrollHunters, and a later one will be made on 3Below, and once it is available Wizards.

The series starts with a a Troll Hunter fighting an evil troll under a bridge in Arcadia the Troll hunter looses the battle and rather then letting the powers of the Troll Hunter fall into the wrong hands he decides to end his life by jumping off the bridge into the sunlight killing himself. As we all know trolls turn to stone in the sunlight so he shattered into thousands of pieces.

The power of the Troll Hunter is a magic amulet made by Merlin. This amulet chooses the next Troll Hunter to protect the other trolls, and for the first time the Amulet has chosen a human. The show follows the new Troll Hunter on his journey to help become the one to save the world.

One of the best things about this series is that the story comes to somewhat of a conclusion. The problem in my opinion is that the ending does leave it open to continue, but there are no plans for any further seasons.

Overall great animated series.

The Circle

The easiest way I can describe The Circle is a Social Media reality show. I have watched my fair share of reality shows they are usually cooking competition shows or Survivor or other shows like that. I am not a die hard fan of them, but I do watch them.

When I first heard what The circle was I thought what a lot of you may be thinking, it's just a group of people using Facebook. If that's what you are thinking then you are both right and wrong. The contestants use a custom social media platform. When they come into the game they can only post 1 photo and a short bio. Once they have their profile updated they can browse the other players profiles  and start chatting with them in a group chat or private chats. Once they get to know each other a little they rank all of the other players, and the 2 who are ranked highest are influencers who can eliminate 1 player.

One great thing about this show is that when someone gets eliminated they get to go and visit one of the other players face to face, and see if they are who they said they are or if they are a catfish. I personally can't get over how much I enjoyed this show, and I am hoping for another season of it from Netflix.

October Faction

When I first saw the preview for October Faction I was thinking this was another show targeted at the teenage audience, then i realized the TV-MA rating. When I saw that I decided to give it a try, and I was not disappointed.

The series is based on a comic series created by Steve Niles, and published by IDW Publishing. I personally have never heard of it before the Netflix series. That being said I have not heard of a lot of comic books outside of Marvel, DC, and Dark Horse comics.

At the time of this review there is only 1 season with 10 episodes. This series follows the Allen family, parents Fred and Deloris, and twin teenagers Viv and Geoff. The basic plot of the show is the parents are essentially secret agent monster hunters who take some time off when a family member passes away. The globetrotting family return to Fred and Deloris's home town to settle the affairs.

The primary "bag guy" in this season is a Warlock that was accidentally awakened. Her primary target is the Allen family because of events that happened in the past that will be made clear in later episodes. There are a lot of great parts to this series, but it is difficult to talk about without massive spoilers.

If you are a fan of Supernatural or other similar shows I have no doubt you will enjoy this series, and I am looking forward to another season in the future.
