All Rise

All Rise is a new TV series. At the time of this review the first season had not completed airing. The series is focused on a new Judge in LA who is considered by many a creative judge. The thing that makes this show stand out a little from other Judge centered shows is that most episodes have 2 - 3 different cases and not just the one judge.

This is still just a basic drama series so like most you have relationships and personal problems that you would have in any other drama. You also have to look at the fact that it only has a PG rating so your not getting any surprises.

Although I am a fan of the show and if it gets renewed I will most likely continue to watch the series, there isn't anything big that would make it jump out from the other drama series.

TrollHunters: Tales of Arcadia

TrollHunters is an animated series that is part of a Tales of Arcadia collection on Netflix. The series had 3 seasons and is now complete. The series also crosses over with another series from this collection called 3Below. In addition to this there is another series coming to Netflix in 2020 called Wizards.

This review is going to focus on TrollHunters, and a later one will be made on 3Below, and once it is available Wizards.

The series starts with a a Troll Hunter fighting an evil troll under a bridge in Arcadia the Troll hunter looses the battle and rather then letting the powers of the Troll Hunter fall into the wrong hands he decides to end his life by jumping off the bridge into the sunlight killing himself. As we all know trolls turn to stone in the sunlight so he shattered into thousands of pieces.

The power of the Troll Hunter is a magic amulet made by Merlin. This amulet chooses the next Troll Hunter to protect the other trolls, and for the first time the Amulet has chosen a human. The show follows the new Troll Hunter on his journey to help become the one to save the world.

One of the best things about this series is that the story comes to somewhat of a conclusion. The problem in my opinion is that the ending does leave it open to continue, but there are no plans for any further seasons.

Overall great animated series.

The Circle

The easiest way I can describe The Circle is a Social Media reality show. I have watched my fair share of reality shows they are usually cooking competition shows or Survivor or other shows like that. I am not a die hard fan of them, but I do watch them.

When I first heard what The circle was I thought what a lot of you may be thinking, it's just a group of people using Facebook. If that's what you are thinking then you are both right and wrong. The contestants use a custom social media platform. When they come into the game they can only post 1 photo and a short bio. Once they have their profile updated they can browse the other players profiles  and start chatting with them in a group chat or private chats. Once they get to know each other a little they rank all of the other players, and the 2 who are ranked highest are influencers who can eliminate 1 player.

One great thing about this show is that when someone gets eliminated they get to go and visit one of the other players face to face, and see if they are who they said they are or if they are a catfish. I personally can't get over how much I enjoyed this show, and I am hoping for another season of it from Netflix.

October Faction

When I first saw the preview for October Faction I was thinking this was another show targeted at the teenage audience, then i realized the TV-MA rating. When I saw that I decided to give it a try, and I was not disappointed.

The series is based on a comic series created by Steve Niles, and published by IDW Publishing. I personally have never heard of it before the Netflix series. That being said I have not heard of a lot of comic books outside of Marvel, DC, and Dark Horse comics.

At the time of this review there is only 1 season with 10 episodes. This series follows the Allen family, parents Fred and Deloris, and twin teenagers Viv and Geoff. The basic plot of the show is the parents are essentially secret agent monster hunters who take some time off when a family member passes away. The globetrotting family return to Fred and Deloris's home town to settle the affairs.

The primary "bag guy" in this season is a Warlock that was accidentally awakened. Her primary target is the Allen family because of events that happened in the past that will be made clear in later episodes. There are a lot of great parts to this series, but it is difficult to talk about without massive spoilers.

If you are a fan of Supernatural or other similar shows I have no doubt you will enjoy this series, and I am looking forward to another season in the future.

Stargate SG-1 (Previous Review)

Stargate SG-1 is a fantastic series that ran from 1997 - 2007 giving us 10 seasons of adventure, This show is based off the movie Stargate released in 1994. The general plot of both the movie and the show is that during an archaeological dig in Egypt a device is found that allows people to travel to distant planets through a wormhole. With this discovery the US Air force is put in charge of the secret facility known as Star Gate Command (SGC).

The main focus of the show centers around the flagship team known as SG-1 traveling and exploring different planets. During their exploration they discover a race of aliens called the Goa'uld, a parasitic creature that takes over human bodies and pose as the ancient gods of Earth. Fighting, and looking for a way to defeat the Goa'uld is a large focus of the series, but does not cause the series to become stale.

Stargate SG-1 has also led to 2 additional series Stargate: Atlantis, and SGU Stargate Universe neither of witch had as many seasons as SG-1. Unfortunately I have not seen either of these two yet so i can't pass judgement on them yet. All three of these Stargate series are available on Netflix UK, so I do plan on watching them at sometime and I hope to post a review at that time.

My final suggestion on SG-1 is that any fan of Sci-Fi  should watch this show if you haven't already. watching the Stargate movie first would be helpful for the first episode or two, but is not required to enjoy.

TWITCH - Cybplaysgames

This is my first TWITCH Streamer review, and it is one of my favorite streamers Cybplaysgames. This streamer is very interactive, he does his best to respond to every comment posted in his chat, and plays a wide verity of games. When it comes to multiplayer games he does give his subs the first crack at playing with him, but he will let anyone play if the subs are not available.

Unlike some streamers Cy doesn't beg for donations, or subs or make you feel bad if you can't afford to sub. He is an extremely positive streamer who believes in building a positive community, and the mods he has working on his stream are great at enforcing his rules. One big rule in his stream is no bad language, and that if for no other reason then he doesn't use it in his day to day life, so he asks that his viewers don't use it either.

He also has several characters that he will bring out for conversations randomly during his streams to entertain and interact with his viewers. There is never a dull moment when your watching Cy.

I personally have been a sub to his stream for over 2 years, and unfortunately our schedules have not been in sync so i haven't been able to watch for the past few months.

The Good: Cy is a great streamer who keeps you entertained and engaged from beginning to end, and is always playing a wide range of games.

The Bad: Not the stream for people looking for a quiet stream as at times Cy can be loud.

The Bottom Line: Give Cy a chance he will make you feel at home weather your a sub or its your first time visiting his channel, and you will be entertained the whole time. https://www.twitch.tv/cybplaysgames

The First

2 episodes into the show The First, and I am bored. This of course doesn't mean this isn't a good show, but it isn't what I was expecting it to be. I was expecting a science fiction show that follows a group making the first trip to Mars. What I got was a drama series following a failed mission to Mars and the people responsible trying to make another attempt.

So far the series has been more political. People trying to secure funding for another attempt at the mission. This includes hearings with the government and meetings with the president. The only thing that I have found somewhat entertaining so far is the fact that this is set in the future so there is some advanced technology, but nothing that is outside of what technology companies are currently working on.

I enjoy some drama shows, but these first 2 episodes I have found difficult to get through, and I have doubts that I will try getting through any more episodes. If anyone has watched more then the first 2 episodes and finds it gets better let me know in the comments and I will try to watch more.

James May Our Man In Japan

Hey Bim, guess what?

If you have seen James May Our Man In Japan then you found those 4 words hilarious. This show is a 6 part travel show about Japan where James May goes to different parts of Japan to explore the culture, food, and landscapes of this amazing country.

In most travel shows it will be the journalist talking about the area and they will talk with the locals, and this is no different in that aspect, but one place where this show excels above others is that it isn't edited to make James look like he knows exactly what he is doing, or when he is participating in an activity it doesn't make him look like he has been doing it for years. If James screws something up (witch happens often) they left it in the show as well as criticisms from his guides/translators.

It's possible this show may be how James May is on all his shows, but I for one had no Idea who he was when I first started watching. That being said not knowing who James May is will not effect you watching this show in any way. There are so may great things about this show that I can't say anything about because they would be spoilers, and I would rather you find out about them yourself.

The A Team (previous review)

*** This is a review previously written on my old blog ***

The A-Team is an amazing TV series that ran from 1983 - 1987 providing 5 seasons of action packed mayhem. This show both aired and ended before my time, however I have watched the entire series at least two times and currently working on the third.

The series follows a group of highly trained soldiers who were charged and convicted of robbing a bank in Vietnam days after the war had ended. Claiming they were Innocent the group escaped from a maximum security prison, and became mercenaries helping anyone who could find them.

During the series while helping people in different situations they are also actively hunted by the US Army causing some already difficult problems become nearly impossible to complete without getting caught.

One great thing about The A-Team is that in every episode they are shooting automatic rifles at people and not once do I remember them hitting anyone, and if they do they definitely don't kill anyone. Some younger viewers may not like The A-Team, but anyone who is a fan of the classics should watch this show if they haven't already.

Aladdin (2019)

I have seen the original Aladdin animated movie many times as well as the cartoon TV series. I've always loved it. So this review may be biased.

The new live action Aladdin has gotten the short end of the stick, but I couldn't be happier with it. It was of course a hit in the emotional crotch to see anyone other then Robin Williams play the genie, but Will Smith did an incredible job.

My absolute favorite part of the entire movie was the scene where Aladdin comes into the city pretending to be a prince. It is a big musical number that I ended up going back and re watching 3 or 4 times before I continued on with the movie, I then went back and watched it again after the movie.

One major difference between the animated movie and the live action movie is the Sultan. In the animated movie he was a small kinda dopey man where in the movie he didn't come across that way. Another problem I had with it was Iago. I wish they had brought Gilbert Gottfried back as the voice of Iago.

The good: It's a live action of a classic from my childhood. It follows the same story line with very little changes.
The Bad: When it comes to the classic remakes it can be hard to accept changes in the characters or their voices.
The Bottom Line: If you like musicals, or you enjoyed the animated movie you have to give this a try, I cant see you regretting it.

Don't F**k With Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer

When it comes to documentaries I will sometimes enjoy them, but I will often be forced to watch them rather then watching them on my own. This one was no exception. It's not that I don't enjoy documentaries it's just that I would rather get lost in a fantasy then deal with reality. Even though I was forced to watch this with my wife I was very satisfied with it.

Don't F**k With Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer follows the real like crimes of Luka Magnotta a Canadian who posted videos of himself online killing kittens. For anyone who is reluctant to watch this because they are unsure about possible graphic scenes, Don't worry there are no images of the animals actually being killed. They do show the videos that he posted, but they stop showing them before the cats are killed, and they just describe the terrible actions that take place.

Don't F**k With Cats is a 3 part series with each episode lasting about an hour. there are some long stretches in the

The Good: This show gave a lot of background information about a Facebook Group that started tracking him after the first kitten video, That i'm sure there was little to no information given when the events were happening.

The Bad: A large amount of the 2nd episode is in French and requires you to read subtitles because they are dealing with French authorities in France.

The Bottom Line: I would suggest giving it a try, but make sure you have the time to pay attention to the show it will not work great as a show to watch while you are gaming or distracted by other things.

Chuck

Chuck is a great television series that launched in 2007 about a computer geek working at a store called the Buy More as a computer technician. While working his everyday job he gets a e-mail from a old college "friend" which downloads all of the computer files from a joint CIA and NSA super computer into his head. At this point the CIA and NSA both send their top agents to find out who chuck is and who, if anyone he is working for, and to try and get their secrets back.

Once they realize who Chuck is and what is happening with the situation the CIA and NSA decide to have the agents stay with Chuck to protect him and the secrets in his head. John Casey (NSA) starts working with Chuck at the Buy More and living in an apartment next door. Sarah Walker (CIA) gets a job at Wienerlicious a German hotdog restaurant located across the street from the Buy More which in later seasons is changed into a frozen yogurt store called Orange Orange. to protect him outside of work she pretends to be Chucks girlfriend as her cover.

Needless to say the general idea of the show is each episode different missions with a general plot for each season. The show lasted for 5 seasons each one developing new plots and advancing the characters relationships in a way you would expect from any drama, with great comedy and action to go with it.

NEW YEAR NEW BLOG

In the near future you will start to see some reviews for different TV shows, Movies, Streamers, and pretty much anything I find entertaining. I also plan on uploading some links to where you can watch some of these shows. I will NOT be making any content available to download, however I may at times provide links to where content can be found.

Some of the posts I will be copying from my old blog that in the near future will be deleted.
